At the 2025 Howard Taylor Lecture, leading experts in women’s health examined the critical intersection of mental health and wellbeing within obstetric and gynaecologic care. The session highlighted the pioneering work of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), including their Perinatal Mental Health toolkit, evidence-based screening and treatment frameworks and guidance for integrating mental health care into routine obstetric practice.

Dr Stella M. Dantas, Dr Tiffany Moore Simas and Dr Emily S. Miller discussed ACOG’s key programming priorities, including improving access to perinatal mental health services, advancing screening and referral pathways for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and strengthening systems to support emotional wellbeing before, during and after pregnancy.

This recorded session equips clinicians and researchers with actionable insights and strategies to advance maternal mental health and foster holistic, patient-centred care.
