Empowers OBGYNs to unlock their personal leadership style, master practical strategies and confidently drive meaningful improvements in maternal and newborn health.
The leadership strategies module, led by Prof Dame Lesley Regan, is designed to equip OBGYNs with practical tools to drive meaningful change in maternal and newborn health (MNH). Participants will learn to translate leadership principles into actionable strategies that strengthen health systems, improve quality of care and promote equity. The session emphasizes the importance of collaboration, stakeholder engagement and effective communication across all levels of the healthcare system, from frontline teams to national authorities.
A key focus is understanding and leveraging personal leadership style to enhance influence, teamwork and problem-solving. Participants will explore strategies for team building, mentorship, succession planning and implementing evidence-based innovations. The module also covers approaches to overcome systemic barriers, champion policy change, and mobilize resources for sustainable improvements. By the end of the session, OBGYNs will have practical insights to lead confidently, inspire colleagues and drive transformative, lasting impact in MNH.
