Leadership Empowerment Series: Doctors as advocates
Supports health professionals to leverage clinical evidence and strategic advocacy to influence decision-makers and drive meaningful improvements in women’s health and rights at every level.
This session, led by Advocacy Specialist Jameen Kaur, equips doctors with the knowledge and skills to advocate effectively for women’s health and rights. Participants will explore how to use clinical evidence to influence decision-makers at local, national, and global levels.
Through practical case studies and reflective exercises, Jameen highlights the types of evidence that resonate with political, strategic and operational actors, and demonstrates how to tailor advocacy messages for maximum impact. Participants will also learn essential advocacy skills, including building credibility, fostering relationships and designing actionable strategies that drive meaningful change.
By the end of the session, health professionals will be more prepared to lead advocacy initiatives, strengthen accountability and advance policies that ensure safe, equitable, and high-quality sexual and reproductive health services for women and girls. This session transforms clinical expertise into strategic action for lasting impact.
