Leadership Empowerment Series: Collaboration and community of practice
Discover how to harness collaboration and communities of practice to unite partners, drive meaningful action and transform maternal and newborn health outcomes.
Tackling complex challenges in maternal and newborn health requires more than individual effort – it demands collaboration, shared vision and collective action. Led by Prof Pius Okong, this module of the Leadership Empowerment Series shows participants how to build powerful partnerships and vibrant communities of practice that turn ideas into impact.
Through real-world examples and practical strategies, learners will discover how to identify common problems, set clear goals, engage partners, and navigate the full cycle of collaboration – from planning and negotiation to implementation, evaluation, and continuous learning. The module highlights how communities of practice foster shared learning, innovation and scalable solutions that go beyond individual projects.
Participants will reflect on their own roles, partnerships and networks, gaining the tools to harness collective expertise, overcome challenges, and drive sustainable improvements that make a real difference for mothers and communities.
