Leadership Empowerment Series
Offers an integrated, practical and future-focused foundational learning experience – cultivating effective leadership champions who can effectively advance women’s health and rights around the globe.
The FIGO Leadership Empowerment Series is a foundational 15-module series designed to equip OBGYNs and other women’s health professionals with the skills, confidence and strategic insight needed to drive meaningful change at local, national and global levels.
Developed as part of the FIGO LDI: REACH programme and funded by the Gates Foundation, the series is based on sessions originally recorded with programme participants across 2023 and 2024 that have now been adapted for the wider FIGO community.
The series spans a broad set of capabilities, guiding participants from personal foundations to tactics for leading change within organisations and health systems. Sessions are delivered by experienced clinical and non-clinical experts and explore key themes such as advocacy, communication, gender equity, motivation and change management.
The series has four primary learning objectives:
Designed to support early career professionals and up-and-coming leaders in women's health, the series uses a range of learning approaches, including instructional videos, case studies, evidence-based examples, reflective exercises and interactive quizzes.
Each module takes approximately 60–90 minutes to complete and concludes with a certificate of completion. Participants may complete the full series or select individual modules most relevant to their interests or roles.
The Leadership Empowerment Series is available in English and was released in March 2026.
